Complete Walkthrough
Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Queen Marie Chapter 2 Stage 3 of Dress up Time Princess. During the previous stage, you attended the conference during which the tax reform was presented to the members of the aristocracy. Suffice to say, many of the nobles were not pleased with it, and some of them even openly expressed their dissatisfaction. Among them were Count Mondego, the Duke of Villars, and even Gabrielle’s husband, the Duke of Polignac. Still, you managed to convince the majority of the nobles to accept the tax reform, and hopefully, it will result in a better future for everyone. Now is the time to continue where you left off. The stage window will display the requirement, a short description, and rewards. Hit Start when you are ready to begin.
Since the recent success with the tax reform, you will notice that the whole palace is much more joyful. After working hard and putting a lot of effort to persuade the nobles to accept the reform, it is finally time to relax a bit and celebrate, which is why the King decided to host a banquet. Madam Deniau will inform you that she’s prepared the outfit for you to wear.
For this occasion, you should pick the clothes with Charming and Elegant tags.
When you arrive at the banquet, the King will hold a short speech and thank everyone for their support. He will also thank you for supporting him and helping make the reform possible. You will feel a lot of warmth and kindness radiating from him, and you’ll truly feel happy.
Everyone will smile kindly at you, and you’ll feel the success of your efforts and hard work. Many of the aristocrats will be glad about being able to help France get out of the financial crisis through these reforms.
Shortly after, Fersen will politely ask you to address everyone and say a few words. You will kindly express your gratitude to all of the noble families that agreed to support the tax reform. Hopefully, this is the first step towards a better future.
Once you’re done with your speech, the King will announce the start of the banquet. You’ll feel a lot of positive energy radiating around, and almost all of the people will seem very cheerful and happy. Unfortunately, one person will look very sad and you’ll be quick to notice it.
You will notice a lot of sadness in Gabrielle’s beautiful eyes. For some reason, she won’t be able to look at you and you will start realizing what’s going on. Poor Gabrielle will feel very ashamed of her husband and her family, especially after he promised to support the reform and didn’t honor his word.
You’ll try calming her down and saying it was not her fault. After all, she couldn’t have known he would break his promise. After a moment, Gabrielle will inform you that her husband used his ties to get some other noble families to join him in rebelling against the reform. As for the rest of her family, they are all blaming Gabrielle for trying to convince them to support the reform.
You’ll gently touch her shoulder and say again it was not her fault. Poor Gabrielle will look at you and you’ll finally see her smiling. It is apparent that your friendship means a world to her, and she’ll be so happy to see that you’re not giving up on her. This will gain you some Goodwill with Gabrielle.
You’ll notice her eyes tearing up. She will apologize for not being able to help you and say she’s not supposed to be by your side for too long. Apparently, her family doesn’t know she’s with you, and if they find out, she might get in trouble.
Shortly after, she will bow graciously and leave. You will decide to go outside for a while. The moon will shine brightly outside and illuminate the beautiful garden. It will be very peaceful outside and after walking around for a while, you will finally be able to calm down. You will stroll through the garden for some time before you spot a familiar figure.
The following choice will heavily impact the rest of the stage.
FersenIf you choose Fersen, you will notice him standing alone in the garden. He will be very surprised to see you. This will earn you some Goodwill with him.
He will notice that something’s troubling you and ask if it has anything to do with Gabrielle. He’ll admit he overheard your conversation with her and say he didn’t do it on purpose. You will stay silent for a while, unsure whether or not to confide in him. Eventually, you will decide to open up and tell Fersen everything that’s been on your mind recently.
You’ll tell him you’re uncertain if you’ve made the right choice. After all, not all of the nobles will be able to pay their taxes, and you will realize that some of them will have to carry a huge burden to support the tax reform. You’ll admit you haven’t thought about it, and now that you saw the situation with Gabrielle and her family, you will wonder how many other noble families are in a similar situation.
Fersen will try to calm you down and explain that there is no perfect solution. It would be impossible to please everyone and still solve France’s financial crisis. You will look at him ask if he thinks you did the right thing.
He’ll be shocked by your question and say that he can’t answer it. He’ll ask you to forgive him for that. You can choose whether you want to be persistent or think about the question yourself.
Persist in asking himIf you choose to be persistent, Fersen will feel very uncomfortable and you will lose some Goodwill with him.
You’ll tell him he’s the person closest to you, which is why you’re asking for his opinion. Upon looking at you, Fersen will soften up and he’ll say that as a Queen, you will sometimes be faced with difficult decisions. And those decisions will come with the consequences you will have to accept.
You will look at him for a while and realize that with all of the power that comes with being the Queen, there are also a lot of responsibilities. Fersen will smile at you and nod.
Back to Previous ChoiceIf you decide to think about it for a bit, you will close your eyes and repeatedly ask yourself the same question. After a while, you will realize that you’ve made the right decision. While it certainly was a difficult decision to make, you had to do it for the sake of France.
You will smile at Fersen and say you understand him. You’ll tell him you realize you have a lot of responsibilities as the Queen. He will smile at you and nod, pleased that you understood him. This will also grant you some Goodwill with him.
Back to Previous ChoiceFersen will point out that you were amazing during the conference. You will humbly say you are just an ordinary woman. He will decide to prove his words with action. Before you get the chance to say anything, he will graciously kneel before you.
Fersen will swear to God that he will forever be true to you and love you until the day he dies. He’ll promise to dedicate his heart and soul to you as your loyal knight and he’ll promise to protect you for all eternity.
He will smile at you and ask if you accept his oath. At that moment, your heart will start racing and the tears will run down your face. You will realize how much love and devotion Fersen has for you, and for a moment, you will be unable to say anything.
Once you collect yourself, you will gently touch his shoulder and say you accept him as your one and only knight. You will swear never to abandon him and the people of France. Fersen will bow politely and thank you for accepting his oath.
Back to Previous ChoiceIf you choose Lafayette, you will spot him standing alone in the garden. He will be very surprised to see you, which will also earn you some Goodwill with him.
You will be curious to know why he’s in the garden when he is the hero of the tax reform. He persuaded so many of the newer nobles to support the reform, and you will point out that many of them must be eager to talk to him. Lafayette will calmly answer your question.
You’ll be slightly disappointed by his answer, and say he’s way too stern most of the time. Lafayette will politely say he had no intention of ruining the celebratory mood. He will apologize if you left the banquet because of him. Despite being his usual self, something about his presence will be reassuring.
You will suddenly let out a laugh and thank him. Poor Lafayette will be confused by your actions and you will decide to provide an explanation. You will say that despite everything that happened, he remained the same. You found that quite reassuring, which is why you wanted to thank him.
He will look at you for a while as if he’s trying to find out what you’re thinking. He’ll ask if you are afraid of change. You will calmly say that you are glad if the change makes everyone more trusting and supportive, especially if it will result in a better future for the whole of France.
Still, you will admit that you are worried about certain things, especially since not all of the nobles feel the same way about the reform. Lafayette will simply nod and say he understands.
For some time, both of you will look at each other in silence before he decides to speak again. This time, the tone of his voice will be much gentler, and he will ask if you want to hear a story about what he experienced during the war.

You will be slightly surprised by his proposition. Lafayette will admit he never told anyone stories before, but he still hopes you’ll be willing to hear it. You will think for a while before giving him an answer.
Accept right awayIf you accept right away, you will smile at Lafayette and say you’d be honored to hear his story. This will earn you some Goodwill with him.
He’ll kindly ask you to keep his story a secret. Apparently, he is worried that some of his subordinates might hear of it, and he’ll admit it to you.
Back to Previous ChoiceIf you hesitate to give him an answer, you will feel very exhausted after the conversation with Gabrielle, and you won’t be able to think of a way to reject him. Lafayette will notice your hesitation and he’ll ask if you are thinking of a reason to turn him down. This will lose you some Goodwill with him.
You’ll be shocked he managed to read you so easily. He’ll simply say he noticed your hesitation and assumed you don’t want to hear his story. You’ll tell him you feel very tired, which is the reason you didn’t accept his proposition.
Lafayette will say he understands. He will bow down and wish you a good rest. Just before he leaves, you will rush to stop him. You will say you’ve changed your mind and want to hear his story after all.
Back to Previous ChoiceLafayette will look at you and start telling his story. He will say that while he was in America, he once led his troops in an attack against the enemy, but they got surprised and ambushed. They tried hard to break free from the surrounding enemies, and just as they managed to do it, his friend, Francis, was injured by a grenade.
Francis fell off his horse, and his injuries were severe. Still, it looked like he might live to see another day if someone were to rescue him. You will ask Lafayette if he rescued his friend. He will look at the ground before saying he didn’t.
You will notice him closing his eyes and clenching his fists tightly. He will be overflown by feelings of regret and frustration. Moments later, he will continue the story. When he saw Francis fall down, he rushed towards his friend to save him. However, Francis lifted his head and yelled at Lafayette to leave him.
At that moment, Lafayette made the decision to leave Francis behind. To this day, he remembers Francis’ words and the look on his face. He will try to explain how difficult it is to abandon your battle comrade.
He will then look at you and say that given the same choice, he would still make the same decision. Despite feeling guilty for leaving his friend, he had to fulfill his duty as a General.
You will notice a lot of pain in his words, and after taking some time to digest everything you will ask if he thinks it was the right decision. Lafayette will calmly say it wasn’t. However, it was a decision that had to be made.
His eyes will radiate with a lot of pain and sorrow, but he will still keep his composure and his usual sternness. You will take a deep breath and tell him that from now on, you will try as hard as you can to make the best choices.
Lafayette will calmly say you won’t have to prove yourself worthy, because to him, you are already the best Queen that France has ever had. You will finally notice him smiling at you.
Suddenly, he will drop down on one knee and gently take your hand. He will say that everyone makes mistakes, but only a few people are willing to admit when they are wrong.
He’ll point out you have the courage to make things right, and worrying about your decisions is a sign you have a kind and gentle heart. He will advise you to make the decisions you feel you should. It won’t take long for people who believe in you to follow in your footsteps.
Lafayette will promise to continue being strict towards you and to pull you back should you ever stray from your rightful path. He will also promise to protect you from any harm that comes your way.
Once he stands up, you will smile at him and say he sounded very serious about everything he said. He will gaze back at you and say it’s a part of who he is. You will gently touch his shoulder and say you’re looking forward to working together for the future. Lafayette will smile at you and say he’s honored by your words.
