Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Queen Marie Chapter 2 Stage 10 of Dress up Time Princess. Last time, you attended the Estates General where the King presented the idea of the tax reform to the members of all three Estates. Needless to say, many of the nobles were quite hesitant to accept this reform and start paying their taxes. Some of them even went as far as to blame you for France’s financial crisis. However, you pointed out that you were willing to change for the sake of France, and asked the nobles if they are willing to do their part. Suffice to say, most of the opposing nobles looked for excuse after excuse to avoid paying taxes. Ultimately, the King gave them a few days to consider it. Thankfully, many of the other nobles agreed to the tax reform and promised to pay their taxes from now on. Now is the time to see if the opposing nobles agreed to support the tax reform. The stage window will display a short description, the requirements, and the rewards. Hit Start when you are ready to begin.
A few days will pass since the conference, and the King will ask to see you in his study. You will know it has something to do with the tax reform, so you will rush there to see what happened. Unfortunately, once you arrive, you will learn that the opposing nobles are still refusing to pay their taxes.
Needless to say, you will be shocked to find out that those nobles would go as far as to directly oppose the throne. You’ll ask the King if he plans on taking action against the rebelling nobles.
Unfortunately, the King will admit that his hands are tied when it comes to those nobles. He’ll say that for a while, they’ve looked down on the royal court and things have been worsening ever since Louis XV. You will recall that Louis XV publicly consorted with Madame du Barry in the palace, which was an enormous insult to many of the nobles.
Blaisdell will point out that trying to force the nobles to pay taxes might end up with disastrous consequences. You will ask if there is anything else that could be done about it.
Lafayette will say that many of the rebelling nobles have a high influence on society and the economy. According to him, the only option is to strike them in their weak spot. Also, he’ll tell you that plenty of people are talking ill of the royal court and are trying to blame you for France’s financial crisis.
Is it possible that everything you’ve done was for nothing? Is there any way for the people to see that you’ve changed and are doing your best to save the country? Those questions will fill your mind, but unfortunately, you won’t be able to find the answers.
Fersen will say that thanks to your past actions, the nobles decided to target you. Also, a lot of people are spreading Voltaire’s views regarding freedom, and encouraging people to rebel against the throne. This is just one bad news after another.
Lafayette will point out that the nobles never supported freedom of speech. They simply used it as an excuse to go against the royal family. Fersen will add that in the end, all of those nobles only want to profit from the unrest.
Sadly, the common people don’t see the bigger picture, and in the end, they will be the ones to lose the most. It would simply result in another civil unrest, which is bad for the future of France regardless of who wins.
You will be slightly shaken once you hear Lafayette saying that. You know very well how things ended for Marie Antoinette, and you definitely want to avoid meeting the same fate.
The King will notice that you’re frightened, and he’ll ask if you are all right. You will admit you are worried that they might rebel against the nobles. Louis XVI will try to reassure you that won’t happen.
Lafayette will nod and add that only a small number of people are causing trouble, and after the Estates General, most of the civilians are still supporting the royal family, especially with the newly introduced tax reform. He’ll also try to calm you down.
You’ll be thankful that they are trying to reassure you, but sadly, the feeling of unease won’t just disappear from you. You will know well what could happen, but unfortunately, you won’t be able to find a way to convince them.
Blaisdell will propose a solution. He will say that you could simply let the nobles deal with the needs of the commoners, and in the end, they will suffer the consequences of their own foolishness.
Still, you will be uncertain if this is the best course of action. Fersen will understand your concern and he will point out that this could easily lead to violent conflict between the nobles and the commoners.
Blaisdell won’t seem too worried about that. According to him, that might be a good way for France to get rid of those that are working against the country. You will point out that the nobles might band together to attack the throne, which could easily lead to a disaster.
Sadly, you won’t be able to find a way to convince them. The King will notice that you are disturbed, and he will advise you not to worry too much. He’ll say that the only thing you can do is to wait for the nobles and the civilians to make the next move.
He will point out that everyone needs to get some rest, and he’ll decide to end the meeting. As much as you would want them to see your point of view, you will have to agree with him. Shortly after, you will leave the study and head to your chambers.
As soon as you enter your room, Madame Deniau will notice that you look very pale and she’ll ask if everything is all right. Her voice will be much gentler than usual, and you’ll decide not to burden her with your problems, so you’ll simply say you’re a bit moody.
She will praise you for doing everything in your power for the sake of France, and she will ask you to take care of yourself. She’ll then point out that the evening is quite lovely, and advise you to take a stroll to clear your mind.
You will decide to follow her advice, and moments later, you will open your wardrobe. For this occasion, you should pick the clothes and accessories with Elegant and Gentle tags.
While walking through the garden, the gentle breeze will help you calm down. After a short while, you will spot a familiar figure. This choice will heavily influence the rest of the stage.
If you choose Fersen, he will be shocked to see you outside. He’ll say that you should be resting in your room after the meeting. You will also gain some Goodwill with him.
You will admit that you were feeling slightly anxious, which is why you decided to go out and get some fresh air. Fersen will smile at you and reassure you there’s nothing to worry about.
You will notice how much he cares for you, but you won’t be able to figure out how to tell him that the conflict between the nobles and the commoners will have serious consequences. You’ll feel as if you’re not the only one trapped in this world.
You will consider whether or not you should ask Fersen about the rebellion.
If you choose to ask him, you will share your concerns with Fersen and ask him what he thinks of it. This will also earn you some Goodwill with him.
Fersen will tell you that his priority would be protecting those dear to him. And the one dearest to him is you. Upon hearing this, all of your worries will suddenly fade away, and a feeling of warmth will overwhelm your heart.
Once you manage to collect yourself, you will tell Fersen you want him to treasure his life. After all, he is not French, and he could return to Sweden to live a peaceful life there.
Suddenly, his expression will change, and Fersen will admit that Sweden does not care much about him. He’ll look at you and say with a voice full of determination that he would rather die in France than return back to Sweden.
You’ll be surprised to hear that and ask if he would tell you more about it since you always assumed he came to France because of his ambitions. Fersen will look away and say that he doesn’t want to talk about it.
This will only make you more curious, and you will ask him to tell you the whole story. He will be silent for a while, but in the end, he’ll decide to open up and tell you everything.
While he was young, he wanted to contribute to his home country many times. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to do that, so he decided to go to France to start his career. Eventually, after a lot of hard work, he managed to accomplish his goals.
You will ask if that was the reason he took part in the American War. He’ll nod, saying it was only part of the reason. The other part was that he met “certain someone” during a costume ball in Versailles, but once he found out her identity, his love became a curse.
He’ll say it was fate that brought him to America to take part in the revolutionary war, which completely changed his life. This allowed him to prove his worth, and make a name for himself, not as a noble, but the man called Hans Axel von Fersen.
Thanks to this, he earned his recognition in both France and America, which is the reason he cares more about France than his home country.
If you choose to think about the question, you will close your eyes and reflect upon your recent actions. You’ll lose some Goodwill with Fersen by picking this option. You will think about the conference and everything you said there, and you’ll wonder if you’ve made the right choice.
After asking yourself the same question over and over again, you will finally realize that you would make the same choice if given the chance to do it again. It was simply the decision that had to be made, and you will know you did the right thing.
You’ll look at Fersen and smile, saying you’ve given it a bit of thought and are not troubled any more. He will smile back at you and say a few words of wisdom.
You will ask if he always did what was right. He’ll admit that he made many wrong decisions, but he would probably do the same things if given the chance to start all over again. He will use the American Revolutionary War as an example. He nearly lost his life there, but that experience completely changed him.
Because of that, he is no longer a “noble”, nor a “privileged son”, but the man called Hans Axel von Fersen. This earned him recognition in both France and America, and it was a dream come true for Fersen. Also, he met “the one” in Versailles, and because of all that, he chose France as his real home.
You will tell Fersen you understand him, and hopefully, the two of you can do your very best to help France. Whatever happens, you will be determined to do everything in your power to minimize the damage.
Fersen will tell you he noticed that you aren’t the same anymore. You will give him a surprised look and ask what is different about you. He’ll gently smile at you and say that you are now a compassionate Queen who deeply cares for her people. He’ll also say that you were amazing during the conference.
You will try telling him you are just an ordinary woman, but Fersen will strongly disagree with that. Suddenly, he will drop down to one knee and say that he’ll have to prove his words with action.
Fersen will look at you with his gorgeous eyes and swear to God that he would forever be true to you and love you for as long as he lives. He will dedicate his heart and soul to you as your loyal knight.
He will say he believes you will help France head towards a glorious future, and he’ll swear to be your knight and protect you for all eternity.
Once he’s done, you’ll be completely speechless. Your heart will start beating incredibly fast, and you will realize just how much Fersen cares about you.
He will smile at you and ask if you accept his oath. After taking a moment to collect yourself, you will gently touch his shoulder, saying you accept him as your one and only knight. You will swear to God that you will never abandon him or the people of France.

If you choose Lafayette, he will be shocked to see you, especially since you should be resting after the meeting. Picking this option will gain you some Goodwill with Lafayette.
You’ll tell him you just wanted to have a stroll to clear your mind. Lafayette will notice that something is troubling you and he’ll ask if it has anything to do with the meeting.
You’ll notice a worried look on his face and realize that he clearly cares about you very much. You will open up and tell him you aren’t sure if you made the right decisions, especially with the recent turn of events.
You’ll ask for his opinion. He will look at you quietly and think for a while. He’ll then ask if you are willing to hear his story. You will wonder if he wants to tell you a story just to cheer you up.
He’ll smile at you saying you will understand once you hear it. You can choose if you want to listen to his story or not.
If you choose to listen to his story, you will find yourself unable to turn him down, so you’ll simply nod your head and warn him not to mention any battle strategies or really complicated concepts, lest you might fall asleep. Lafayette will say he’ll try his best not to bore you. Picking this option will earn you some Goodwill with Lafayette.
You will smile at him and say that you must do your best to pay attention since he is so willing to tell you a story. He’ll smile back at you, promising not to let you down.
If you choose not to listen to Lafayette’s story, you will try to think of a way to reject him. He will notice that you are hesitating to answer his question and will assume you are thinking of a reason to turn him down. You will lose some Goodwill with Lafayette for picking this option.
You’ll be surprised that he managed to see through you so easily. Lafayette will look down and say that he noticed your hesitation. He’ll graciously bow, wish you a good rest, and apologize for troubling you.
Just before he leaves, you will rush to stop him. You’ll tell him you changed your mind and wish to hear his story after all, especially since you want to be distracted from all of the things that are troubling you. He will look a bit surprised for a moment, but eventually, he will smile and start telling you his story.
He will say that a long time ago, there was a noble who lived a life of luxury and had everything he needed. He had the feeling he could achieve anything and was immensely proud. While others considered him a polite and well-mannered person, he didn’t have much respect for anyone or anything.
One day, that noble went to America where he experienced his first failure. He had a noble birth and military legacy, which made him a force to be reckoned with in the revolutionary war. During a battle near Philadelphia, he and one of his battle comrades were ordered to assault the front lines to buy others some time.
Unfortunately, he was way too confident in his abilities and didn’t discuss things with his battle comrade before the mission. While fighting, a sudden explosion injured both of them. Sadly, his battle comrade was heavily wounded, which made him realize he was just an ordinary man.
He then ordered the men to retreat and once he managed to reach the hospital, his friend passed away. He had a lot of dark thoughts afterward, but he knew that his comrade would want him to fight on, and gain freedom for America.
After that, every time he went onto the battlefield, he would remember his comrade’s dying words. You will notice a lot of tension building up in Lafayette’s voice as he repeats these words.
It will take a few moments for Lafayette to collect himself. Once he calms down, you will tell him that the person in his story is very brave. He will look down and say he doesn’t think so.
You will ask if he regrets anything. Lafayette will calmly answer that he never has and never will. He will point out that the regret wouldn’t help him go forward, but would instead hold him back. He’ll admit that sometimes he is unsure if the decisions he’s making are the right ones.
However, he will advise you to try your best and in the end, your effort will be worth it. You will think about his words for a while and realize that you are much calmer after hearing his story. You will thank him and promise to do your best to be an even better Queen.
Lafayette will simply tell you to stay as you are. According to him, there’s no need for you to change anything about yourself anymore. He will admit that he was very impressed by the way you handled the nobles during the Estates General.
Suddenly, Lafayette will bow graciously and go down on one knee. He will gently take your hand and apologize for misunderstanding you before. He’ll say that you have earned his utmost respect for doing all in your power to support the reform and help France recover from the financial crisis.
You will try telling him you’re not as wonderful as he thinks, but Lafayette will remain convinced. He will advise you to keep fighting for the sake of France and he’ll promise to stand by your side and support you.
Your heart will start beating faster, and you will try your best to suppress the overwhelming emotions and hold back the tears. After managing to compose yourself, you will thank Lafayette for his kind words.
He will promise to be loyal to you and the throne for as long as he lives. You’ll simply be at a loss for words upon hearing this. You will gently smile at Lafayette, unable to say anything.
After a few moments, you will gently touch his shoulder and say that you accept his oath. You will swear to God never to abandon him or the people of France.
Lafayette will thank you and he’ll once again promise to stay by your side forever.
