It’s here, it’s real, it’s true! Year 5 has come to an end! It’s time to celebrate your victory over the Portrait Vault, as well as this huge milestone in your Hogwarts studies. There were many different adventures you went through, some of which were quite dangerous, some mischievous, some fun and happy, and some very sweet and romantic.
It feels like ages ago when Year 5 started back in September 2018. Everyone was excited by the new things it promised to bring to the table, and rightfully so. Players were very eager about meeting new friends, learning new spells and lessons, especially the ones taught in Defence Against the Dark Arts. A lot of people were very pleased when they saw that Madam Rakepick has been appointed as the new Defence Against the Dark Arts professor. There was a lot of mystery surrounding her, and players were theorizing whether or not she was on their side. Eventually, everything got revealed in Chapter 30, which left everyone with their jaws dropped. Some people were happy with this outcome, some were frustrated, but pretty much everyone had a strong reaction to it.
Players were also patiently awaiting their O.W.L.s, excited about finally being able to put their magical skills and knowledge to the test. This was not an easy task, as completing the adventure was quite a challenge. Still, completing it felt extremely satisfying and there is no doubt its results will play a huge role later on, especially during the N.E.W.T.s in Year 7.
Perhaps, most of all, players were thrilled about finally being able to start dating. Many people were a bit disappointed when the year was nearing its end and there were still no signs of dating adventures. But then, all of a sudden, the developers released long-awaited First Date adventure, which made everyone super excited.
“Should I pick Barnaby or Talbott? I can’t decide…” or “Who should I go for, Penny or Merula?” were some of the most commonly asked questions around Hogwarts Mystery social media groups. A lot of people were in the dilemma since this adventure was the one that will potentially have a lot of effect on the future story of the game. One thing’s for sure – it warmed everyone’s heart and any player who completed it is eagerly anticipating its continuation.
And that Mad-Eye Moody’s appearance near the end of Chapter 33 was the cherry on the top. There’s no doubt that he will play a big role in Year 6, and players will likely get the chance to get to know him better. Still, now that Year 5 is over, we’re left with a lot of unanswered questions. What happened to Jacob? Where did he go? Will we find out who’s behind R? Who will be the new Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor? Will we get to see Bill again? When will we get to continue dating our love interests? These are just some of the many questions everyone’s asking these days, but so far, all we can do is wait and see.
Undoubtedly, Year 5 was a blast, and Year 6 has big shoes to fill in order to satisfy the fans. At least now, we can relax and enjoy well-deserved summer break while we look forward to new Hogwarts Mystery adventures!
