Magic Lamp Stage 1-1
Complete Walkthrough
Dear readers, hello and welcome to Blue Moon Game’s Dress Up! Magic Lamp stage 1-10 walkthrough. In this full guide, we take you through the entire stage, all branching paths and choices included, and also including our selection of clothing items to get past that perfect plateau. This story is based on the, of course, familiar Aladin storyline and it is adapted for the game.
We’ve met Gina, Kahir, Sinbad, Light, and many more characters that are on the good side, while we’ve also met the story’s villains, which are basically two characters – The Magician Chapur and the Prime Minister. The latter is also Kahir’s uncle, which complicates things, and he is an immensely powerful figure in the kingdom, while the Magician has real magic power.
More recently, we’ve met the alchemist, Awad. Gina went to him to try and convince him to fight for his position as the kingdom’s alchemist and to defy the Prime Minister. She barely managed to convince him, but he did agree at the end to work on something new that would dazzle everyone at the king’s banquet he is to attend in the near future.
It is a breakthrough, as Awad explained it to Gina in the last chapter, on a refining technique he’s been working for many years. He needs to work on it more to get some better results before the presentation on the banquet and he also asked Gina to help him by being his apprentice, to which she agreed.
And, that was where we left off.
Magic Lamp stage 1-10 is titled the “Philosopher’s Stone”, which is the central symbol of the alchemical mystical terminology, a symbol of perfection, heavenly bliss, and enlightenment. Awad knows a lot about gemstones, so Gina must help him get back on track at all costs.
The stage hint suggests that we craft several items in order to get the perfect score with our outfit and we’ve prepared them all. We’ll need the Gentle Dreams hairdo, the Reverie Stroll sandals, the Glittery Leaves necklace, the Morning Dew hair bow, the Wondrous Rose dress, and the Golden Heart armband. In short, the entire Wondrous Rose clothing set. Now, let’s see where we go from here…
The story continues with Awad and Gina already working in his shop. Gina is getting familiar with the surroundings, with the cluttered work desk, tools, instruments, flasks, and other things. There is a particular flask suspended over a golden-red flame that is currently used for their experiment.
Rising steam permeates the room from it and gives it a psychedelic look. Awad tells Gina that the truth is unmistakable and all things come together. It was born from the Sum and Moon, carried by the Wind, and returned to the Earth…
The contents of the flask burn out and after a short while, the smoke subsides, leaving nothing but an empty flask and charred residue. Awad is not happy with the results and says it is still not good. He says he thought this match was just about perfect…
Then, he hammers the table in frustration, and the flasks clatter. A piece of yellow parchment falls from the table. Gina picks it up and sees that it is full of strange writings that are neatly arranged like verses. She asks Awad what it is since she can’t make out a single word…
Awad reveals the parchment is written in another language. It is an old alchemy proverb, like the key to the gate of the truth. If one can figure it out, Awad says, then one can create the Philosopher’s Stone. Gina asks curiously what this Philosopher’s Stone is…
Awad explains that it is every alchemist’s dream. The Philosopher’s Stone is the essence of everything and it can turn decay into magical energy. It can turn copper and iron into gold and silver, ore into agate, and even common herbs into miracle elixirs.
To Gina, this sounds like magic and she can’t help but be a little excited by the idea. She asks Awad if anyone made one ever before? Unfortunately, says Awad, there is no record of anyone who has succeeded. Gina was secretly a little disappointed by this. She was hoping that the gemstone that Light was looking for was this Philosopher’s Stone…
Awad then tells Gina that ever since he was a child, he’s been looking for a way to make the Stone. He has relentlessly read through the classics, visited countless places, and studied for nearly 20 years. He has finally discovered a new extraction technique and was convinced that he would be able to produce the Stone, but…
Awad was ambitiously trying to achieve the unachievable, but Gina reminds him that the banquet is in two weeks from now, when he has to impress everyone at the court and convince them that keeping the Alchemical Workshop in the Palace is a good idea. Maybe, if producing the Stone is too difficult, Gina proposes they make something else…
Awad doesn’t respond to this but just stands by the window and frowns. Muffled thunder can be heard coming from the direction of the sand dunes in the distance. Finally, Awad tells Gina to give him a few more days as he wants to adjust his calculations and try again.
A few days later, Gina is back at her quarters at Sinbad’s mansion and she talks to Light. He reminds Gina that, a few days ago when she got back from Awad, she was chattering with excitement, but today she is so quiet. He asks her if things are going well?
Gina says that Awad has hit a stumbling block and she can’t help him. If only she knew something about alchemy, Gina says and sighs… Light asks if she wants to help that bookworm, then he might have a way. He then gives Gina a mysterious wink and, instantly, Gina knows what he’s talking about.
Gina assumes Light wants to use magic to help Awad. Light answers affirmatively and asks how can Gina still be bothered by this trivial issue when she has him, who has vast power, right in front of her. He says he can easily use magic to allow Awad to make what he wants and save him from embarrassment at the banquet.
Gina wonders if it is so easy and if it will be the real Philosopher’s Stone, which only exists in the minds of alchemists as of now. Light says that if the Lamp’s gemstone weren’t missing, he is pretty sure he could achieve Awad’s ultimate goal. But, for now…
Basically, says Light, if they can overcome this stumbling block, Awad will have time to make his Philosopher’s Stone. He asks Gina if she agrees to it and she asks him to let her think for a moment. And, we arrive at our first choice in this stage 1-10. We can either accept or refuse Light’s proposal. We will go through both choices and you can find them by using the navigation buttons below.
Accept
Gina accepts Light’s proposal as she realizes they don’t have much time and using Magic is the only optimal shortcut they can take. Light is glad she made such a wise decision.
A few days later, Light does create a suitable replacement for the Philosopher’s Stone, but Gina still chooses to tell Awad the truth, that the stone is not genuine. When seeing it, Awad says it is almost perfect, as the true Stone. He finds it hard to believe what he’s seeing.
Awad then asks Gina where and how she obtained this copy. She tells him she asked for a favor from a friend who knows magic. This copy contains magic energy, Gina continues to explain, which makes it look real, and no one at the banquet will be able to see its flaws.
Gina puts it down as it is – by faking it this one time, Awad will get his workshop back and then be able to continue his experiments and earn his true recognition. However, Awad tells Gina he knows she means well, but he can’t take this approach.
Alchemy is an honest science, Awad continues, and cheap tricks would betray its nature. He tells Gina that she may think he’s being inflexible, but he can’t violate these principles of alchemy and he hopes she will understand.
Even though he rejected her, Gina admires Awad for this. During the next few days, Awad continues, and Gina witnesses countless failed experiments. As time flies by, she can’t help but get more and more worried.
On one occasion, after yet another failure, Awad tells Gina that the problem might not be with subtle operation changes. Perhaps they need to go back to the starting point and look for the answer. “Starting point?” Gina wonders… Then, Awad points at the parchment with the ancient proverb.
Awad is now questioning the entire process from the beginning and thinks he may have interpreted the proverb wrong, the one that speaks of the Stone. He paces back and forth by the window, muttering the proverb over and over and gnawing at the words.
The words are refined and obscure, Gina thinks, but there is one sentence that sticks out to her. At this moment, we arrive at our second choice for this stage. We can choose which of the sentences offered is Gina going to pinpoint as obscure, and we will go through both choices below.
Up is down, down is up
Gina points out that this sentence strikes her as a bit odd and it stands out from the rest of the text. She asks Awad what does it mean as thinking about it makes her head spin. Awad explains that this sentence summarizes the ancient alchemists’ perception of the world.
He continues to explain that, according to ancient alchemists, everything is united in one entity. The sky and earth seem to be at distant ends, but in fact, they reflect and connect with each other. Gina thinks how this is like a philosophical theory, but people of this era don’t have a concept of the “universe” she thinks, or rather Alison within her thinks it.
Gina asks Awad if it’s possible that this is meant for something specific. As the candle flickers on the desk, she can see the light reflection in Awad’s eyes. “Something more specific?” Awad asks Gina and wants her to tell him what she means by it…
Gina repeats the sentence once more: “Up is down, down is up…” and keeps thinking about it. Finally, she asks Awad what goes from the ground to the sky and then from the sky to the ground. She thinks to herself how Awad wouldn’t understand what fireworks, rockets, or similar things from her worlds are.
Gina looks out the window to avoid Awad’s gaze, as she feels embarrassed. There is a storm outside and thunder and lightning can be seen. Gina thinks how there’s been so much thunder lately, but Sinbad did say it is the rainy season soon.
And, at that moment, Gina has a flash… “Rain… Rainwater… That’s it! Water!” She tells Awad from the excitement that water turns to steam, then the steam condenses into rain and falls back to the earth. Awad looks at her confused and realizes she is not making much sense, but Gina persists to explain it to him…
Gina explains what in Alison’s world are the basics of water circulation on the planet, but she does not reveal how she knows it, nor anything about her true identity. She asks Awad if the proverb could be talking about water and Awad thinks on it for a moment…
“Water…” he repeats. The core of alchemy is extraction, Awad says, so whether we use firing or distillation, we always rely on “fire” he says. Finally, Awad wonders if it is possible alchemists are trapped by this mindset…
Awad wonders if the very nature of the Philosopher’s Stone and the proverb may be designed to guide an alchemist to think about it from a different angle. Gina is glad that her idea seems to inspire Awad. Over the next few days, he buries himself in ancient books and works more than before.
Unfortunately, due to the arrival of multiple ship caravans, Sinbad’s shop suddenly becomes very busy, so Gina has no time to go visit Awad and work with him. All she can do is pray that everything goes well. The day before the banquet, Gina gets a letter from Awad who invites her to the Palace with him as his assistant.
Gina takes the enthusiasm she feels in Awad’s written words as a good omen. She thinks that perhaps due to the anxiety and excitement she couldn’t sleep well. She needs to change and get going to the banquet now. She hopes everything goes smoothly and we arrive to the Dress Up! time.
Magic Lamp stage 1-10 outfit traits required are Grand and Charming styles, so we will filter those out. We will wear the clothing items we crafted especially for this stage which were suggested by the stage hint, which includes several items.
The very first item we put on is for our hat slot, and it is the suggested Morning Dew hair bow, or whatever this is. It is from the Wondrous Rose set that is used extensively throughout Magic Lamp and it fits the style requirements perfectly. The blueprint for this one is awarded from stage 1-3 and it comes at 3 stars, giving us 307 to both Grand and Charming.
From the same set and also suggested, the hairdo we go for is the Gentle Dreams. It is also tailored to fit this stage’s requirements, giving us 250 to both Grand and Charming at 2 stars. This is an item obtained from Encounters with the Prime Minister.
This stage has no specific suggestions for the facial accessory slot, so just use whichever item you have that can benefit either or both of the required traits. We shall put on the Pure Masque, which fits the requirements perfectly, giving us 267 to both Grand and Charming at 3 stars.
The pivotal part of the Wondrous Rose set is the eponymous dress, which is used extensively throughout the story, as in this stage as well. It is a 3-star dress that contributes with 667 to both Grand and Charming and it is obtained through Encounters with a Noble during Magic Lamp.
Also important to the Wondrous Rose set are the Reverie Stroll sandals, which are at 4 stars and give us 418 to both Grand and Charming. The blueprint for these is awarded from stage 1-4.
Since socks are not required in this outfit, we shall try to use whichever ones can help our final score, but not to spoil the looks too much. Luckily, socks can’t be seen from the dress, so we can use whichever ones we want, and the best option is the Pure White Florals. These will give us 365 only to Grand. They are from the Springtime Story set, obtained when you Activate Season 5 Fashion Booster and reach a specific member level.
For our first accessory, we use the suggested Glittery Leaves necklace, also from the Wondrous Rose set. It is at 3 stars and fits the requirements perfectly, giving us 253 to Grand and Charming. The blueprint for this item is obtained when you reach Sinbad Goodwill Lv. 2.
The Starwish earrings are also a part of the Wondrous Rose set and perfect for this stage. They are at 3 stars and will contribute to both Grand and Charming with 253. The blueprint for these occasionally appears on the Parven’s Shop, so you need to be patient and visit regularly to find it.
The Golden Heart armband is also from the Wondrous Rose set, so we now almost have the complete outfit set equipped. This item is at 3 stars and gives us 236 to both Grand and Charming. The armband is obtained through Encounters with Light during Magic Lamp.
The best ring we got for the style requirements is the River of Love, from the Aphrodite’s Grace set. It is at 4 stars and awards us with 324 to both Grand and Charming. This item drops from the balloons and it is from the Helen of Sparta storyline.
No special handheld item is required for this stage so we use the Letter from March, which is at a high 6-star rank but only contributes to Grand, albeit with 885! This item is from the Springtime Story set, obtained when you Activate Season 5 Fashion Booster and reach a specific member level.
If you don’t have Grand and Charming makeup, just about any makeup will do. We use the Eastern Charm that only fits the Grand style requirement in the current outfit, but at a high 6-star rank it gives 432. This one is from the Passage of Time set and it is obtained via 2021 BFF Festival event.
Use any pet that can help you increase your score. Our current one, Frankenstein, will only give us 162 to Charming, but better that than nothing.
Lastly, we will use the Snake Wand relic, which is from the Magic Lamp story and obtained when you reach Lv. 5 Goodwill with Chapur. It fits the style requirements perfectly and it adds a flat percent to the base score of Shoes and Socks. Also, wearing 3 items from the same set will increase Grand and Charming items by 1.6% on our current level of the relic, which is LV. 1. Now, let’s see how we did…
Success! We got a perfect score at 7016 points total! Now, Gina is ready to attend the banquet where Awad will present his findings. At this point, the story skips directly to the banquet.
Awad reveals his achievement before all the high-class guests at the Royal banquet, including the Ministers, the Prince, and the Queen. It is a dark red crystal. The Prime Minister says it looks normal, like some kind of a cheap gemstone, and asks Awad if this is some kind of a joke.
Awad asks for an old metal ornament and says he will now show that it is anything but normal. The Queen, who was silent all along, suddenly stands up and speaks. She is gentle-looking and king. She gives Awad a ring she says was left to her by her grandmother. She asks Awad to prove the authenticity of his red gem by using it.
The Prime Minister continues demeaning Awad and his presentation, even insinuating that he might be a thief, but the Queen says she has faith in Mr. Awad’s character and abilities. Awad thanks her Majesty for her trust and then takes the ring from her.
When Awad takes the ring near the gemstone, the dull gold ring instantly regains its shine, as if it is brand new again. The Queen and everyone is baffled and stunned in amazement. She says that this is incredible.
Kahir asks if Awad has finally found the Philosopher’s Stone he spoke about. Awad tells them that, strictly speaking, this is merely the prototype. There are too many impurities in it and hence it is unable to bring about true transmutation.
But, Awad continues, this proves that the Philosopher’s Stone is attainable and, as long as he keeps progressing, he will be able to create a flawless one, someday. When that happens, Awad finishes, they will no longer be limited by the desert’s climate and will use alchemy to obtain all of their resources.
Everyone in the hall is amazed and Kahir speaks again. He says that he’s had a preliminary meeting a few days ago with the Executive Cabinet and that he has persuaded them to reconsider abandoning the Royal Alchemy Workshop project.
Now that Mr. Awad has used his results to prove the value of alchemy, Kahir continues, they have every reason to continue supporting his research. Kahir also says that he personally believes that alchemy will open a new chapter in the Full Moon Kingdom and that they will be able to leave the desert and explore the wider world because of it.
Kahir asks his uncle what he thinks about it but the Prime Minister says that since his Highness, speaking to Kahir, is so enthusiastic about alchemy, the abolishment proposal must be withdrawn. He adds that he hopes alchemy will benefit the kingdom soon so that the royal family won’t soil their reputation by wasting tax money.
The Prime Minister actually said that, but it is obvious that he is reluctant to admit defeat. This is so funny to Gina that she can nearly withhold from laughing out loud. The musicians drum out a cheerful beat and the atmosphere of the banquet finally changes to a merry one.
Gina personally congratulates Awad, but he tells her it is all thanks to her help. Without her inspiration, Awad says he thinks he would have remained stuck in someplace. Finally, Awad thanks Gina and tells he wishes to gift her with this imperfect version of the Philosopher’s Stone, hoping she doesn’t mind.
Gina is curious why Awad won’t keep this stone for future experiments, but Awad tells her that once created, the Philosopher’s Stone needs no further refinement. Its value lies in its affirmation of a new way of thinking.
Awad says he will keep exploring this way of thinking and thanks to Gina for her encouragement. He asks her to accept it again and she does.
The tiny red crystal shines with a brilliant luster and it may not be a gemstone that she is looking for, but Gina thinks it symbolizes the spirit of perseverance and encourages her. At this point, we arrive at the end of this Magic Lamp stage 1-10. We now go through it again to cover for the other choices, starting with Light’s proposal.
Back to Previous ChoiceRefuse
Light offered Gina to create a way to help Awad at the banquet. However, in this choice Gina refuses and it will cost us the extra 5 stamina. She admits this may be a way out of her predicament, but she can’t take it.
She also quotes Awad when he said an alchemist approaches truth step by step, through trial and error. The Philosopher’s Stone made by magic may look real, but it violates the spirit of alchemy. Mr. Awad wouldn’t approve of this and Gina says she doesn’t want to deceive him.
Light asks Gina if she is sure of it because they don’t have much time. This means Awad might shop up to the banquet empty-handed. Gina again argues that the whole purpose of this is to prove the worth of alchemy research, so they can’t cheat. Even if they fail, they still have to follow the rules!
Light finally says that it is ok and that he appreciates people with integrity, but if she changes her mind, he can lend a helping hand. Over the next few days, Gina witnesses countless failed experiments and, as days fly by, she can’t help but get more worried.
Awad is now thinking of going back to the starting point and trying the whole thing again. Gina wonders what he means and Awad points at the parchment with the ancient proverb. He says that these continuous failures made him think about how he doesn’t understand the proverb’s meaning.
He paces back and forth by the window, muttering the proverb over and over and gnawing at the words. The words are refined and obscure, Gina thinks, but there is one sentence that sticks out to her. At this moment, we arrive at our second choice for this stage. We chose the first option the first time around and now we go for the second one.
Back to Previous ChoiceExtract fire from the earth, get diamonds from rough
This choice does not cost any additional stamina. Gina wonders about that sentence out loud: “Extract fire from the earth, get diamonds from rough?” She says it sounds literary, but she thinks she understands its meaning. She asks Awad if it means to separate the scorched earth from the fire and polish rough things to fine ones.
Awad tells Gina that she gets it. This sentence describes the basic principles of alchemy, heating, and refining. Since ancient times, Awad continues, all refinement methods have been built on these principles.
Gina concludes that this means that the Stone is probably some rough ore that can withstand high temperatures. She says that it can withstand the trial by fire and emerge from scorched earth. It simply needs to be polished to remove its impurities and one can extract its essence.
Awad confirms and says it is exactly what he had been thinking. It is just that he is starting to think this idea might be too conservative and he is missing some critical element to understand it really. The two brainstorm over this and it simply leads them round and round in circles, failing to achieve any breakthrough.
This brings Gina back to the proverb again and we have to choose the first option to continue with the chapter – Up is down, down is up. Gina points out that this sentence strikes her as a bit odd and it stands out from the rest of the text. She asks Awad what does it mean as thinking about it makes her head spin. Awad explains that this sentence summarizes the ancient alchemists’ perception of the world.
