Magic Lamp Stage 1-9
Complete Walkthrough
Hello and welcome to our Dress up! Magic Lamp stage 1-8 full walkthrough and guide, where we go through the story and all included elements, speaking of course of the outfit we used and how to obtain all the individual clothing items. This story is based on the, of course, familiar Aladin storyline and it is adapted for the game.
At this point, we’ve met virtually all of the main characters in the story. On one side, we have our Gina and her friends and on the other the evil Magician Chapur and the Prime Minister, who seems to be his puppet. Gina is on a mission to help Light and locate the missing gemstone for the Magic Lamp.
However, it would appear that the Magician is also in on it and he also may have recognized Gina when they met in the Royal Library, although she was disguised and did play her part well enough. All in all, she is left with Kahir now, who agreed to help her. He has to get to the banquet, while Gina remained in the library, and we continue off there.
At this point in the overall story arc, we reach a crossroads. Players can choose to either go from stage 8 to stage 9, or they can jump to stage 11 immediately. This is due to the choices in the previous stage 8. Here is how the choice map goes:
- To unlock Stage 1-9, choose “The Alchemist” choice in the previous stage 1-8
- To unlock Stage 1-11, replay stage 1-8 and choose “The Queen” (stage 1-9 will remain open)
Stage 1-9 is titled “The Alchemist, and it does follow the path of the alchemist story arc. Gina decides to help Kahir when he received a letter from Awad, the recently discharged court alchemist. This stage requires you to have the Moonlit Sage dress and Kahir Goodwill Lv.2. Reaching goodwill Lv. 2 with Kahir will award the blueprint for this dress.
Besides the mandatory Moonlit Sage dress, we also recommend crafting all of the other recommended clothing items from the stage hint, which include the Transmuting Gold and the Magician’s Dream, both of which are a part of the Moonlit Sage set and all items have the Elegant and Noble style tags. The blueprint for the Transmuting Gold is found on Parven’s Shop and the ring is obtained from the Scheherazade encounters. Now, let’s see what awaits us in the story next…
After Kahir and Gina have had their time in the library and their search proved fruitless, he left to a banquet he has to attend and Gina went back to her room at Sinbad’s estate. Even though she was now relatively safe, she still feels the Magician’s penetrating gaze as if he is still with her.
She tells this to Light, her friend from the Magic Lamp, and he also says he was surprised by the Magician appearing at the palace, for he also did not expect him there. It would seem Gina’s and the Magician’s fates are intertwined, Light says.
Light seems to be convinced that the Magician positively recognized Gina, despite him playing it cool. And, that means he guessed she has the lamp, which he was after all along and was willing to kill for it before. Gina being alive after she was buried in the cave is all the proof the Magician needs to make the connection.
Since the Magician is now working with the Prime Minister and Kahir suspects that his uncle has only used the refugees as an excuse to gather men to search for the cave, this means this plot is thicker than one might assume.
Gina assumes that the Prime Minister is the one pulling and the strings and that the Magician is working for him on obtaining the lamp. She worries, and we can choose to tell Light about two different things she is worried about: that the Magician will try to seal the Magic Lamp or that the Prime Minister will attempt to hurt the Prince somehow. We go through both choices below:
The magician will steal the Magic Lamp
Gina tells Light she worries about the magician coming after her and stealing the lamp, for if it falls into the hands of the Prime Minister, they will force Light to do something he normally wouldn’t. Light is somewhat surprised and glad Gina cares so much about him, and he tells her that. Gina says that since his magic is impaired if he can’t grant them wishes they might even hurt him if they get a hold of the lamp.
Light is now somewhat bothered and asks Gina if he is so weak in her eyes. Even if his magic is weakened, Light says, he still has more than enough to deal with a mere magician! The tender moment they had before has now disappeared as Light got very upset and is circling around Gina several times.
Finally, Gina says that maybe thinking about the magician brought back memories of being trapped in that cave. She reminds herself that she has a powerful Genie of the Lamp at her side now. She asks Light if he is in this fight with her. Light is glad to hear it and says that this is more like it!
“Of course!” Light tells Gina he won’t let her face any danger by herself. He reminds Gina that she said the Magician didn’t expose her when he saw her today at the library. This is probably because he doesn’t know that the Magic Lamp’s power is diminished and he is cautious about how he confronts Gina now.
Gina still advises caution. She says that the Magician knows she is working for Sinbad and the Prime Minister is a powerful person, so maybe even Sinbad would be powerless against them. They could make trouble for her and all her accomplices at any time, so Gina says they should hide the Magic Lamp well.
Light says it is more important to find the gemstone and then they can relax when he gets his magic back. Gina says there weren’t any real clues at the Royal Library, but maybe the Palace Alchemist has more info for them.
Light asks Gina if alchemy is the technology of converting metals to other elements. He says that is not real magic and he, the alchemist, wouldn’t know anything about the Magic Lamp’s gemstone. However, Gina says that they can’t be sure what happened decades ago and that they should change tack and ask where they can find strange gemstones.
Gina says she has heard that this alchemist Awad knows a lot precisely about gemstones. Maybe he can at least give them a clue or a new avenue of investigation to pursue. Kahir also said that scholarly research has been promoted over magic since the Full Moon Kingdom’s founding. Magic may not be explicitly banned, but it is certainly not in favor, Gina says.
Light still can’t figure why the officials of the Kingdom wouldn’t support magic, for it is far more powerful than alchemy. Gina tells him that she’s heard about magic being able to control nature before, from the magician. It is he who has said the same thing to Light, Gina yells!
She wonders if it is possible they know each other. However, Light says that if the two were acquainted, and he lost his memory of it, they must have been enemies. He says he doesn’t want to see that mane ever again.
Light ushers Gina to go on and search for the alchemist at once. She tells him she needs to change out of her envoy outfit first. And, we arrive to the dress up part of the stage. This Magic Lamp stage 1-9 requires Elegant and Noble clothing. We will filter those out and use the items we crafted so to achieve the best possible score.
Since we are using this Transmuting Gold head clothing item, it already counts as a hairdo and a hat, so it takes up both slots. It is from the Moonlit Sage set and it fits the style requirements perfectly though, with 347 to Elegant and Noble at its 3-star rank. The blueprint for this item can be found occasionally on the Parven’s Shot rotation, once you purchase the Magic Lamp book.
For the facial gear slot, we use the Triangle Mark, also from the Moonlit Sage clothing set. This item also fits the style needs perfectly, as does the entire set, and at 2 stars it gives us 193 to both Elegant and Noble. It can be obtained through encounters with Serpent Queen during Magic Lamp.
The center item of our outfit is the mail item from the Moonlit Sage set, and it is the eponymous dress. It fits the style requirements perfectly, with 658 to both Elegant and Noble at 3 stars in rank. The blueprint for this item is obtained when you reach Goodwill Lv. 2 with Kahir.
For the shoes, we use the Heavenly Shelter sandals from the Heaven’s Sigh clothing set. These sandals are at a high 5-star rank but they only fit the Noble style requirement here so they will contribute us with 585 only to that style trait. This item is obtained by activating Season 4 Fashion Booster and reaching a certain member level.
We don’t have any necklace that fits the two style requirements at the same time, so we shall use the best we’ve got, and it is the Royal Pearls necklace. This one is at a high 5-star rank and it will give us 495, but only to the Noble stat. These are obtained randomly from the balloons and are from the Majestic Gown item set.
We use the Dawn Dew earrings for our second accessory slot. These are maxed out at 6 stars but only fit the Noble style requirement. So, these will give us 708 to that stat. Dawn Dew earrings drop randomly from balloons.
For the armband slot, we shall use the Dancing Fingertips that are from the Wisteria Capriccio item set. This one is at 4 stars and it will contribute us with 442 to Elegant. The blueprint for this item is occasionally found on Parven’s Shop when you get the Swan Lake storybook.
Speaking of other books, here is a ring from Shadows of London called Meeting of Waters. It is an item from the Misty Tower Bridge set and it is at a solid 4-star rank. It only fits the Noble style requirement here, but it will give us 324.
For the handheld item slot, we will use the Ancient Legend scepter, from the Heaven’s Sigh clothing set. This item is obtained by activating Season 4 Fashion Booster and reaching a certain member level. It fits only the Noble style requirement, but it will give us a strong 885 to it.
The Shades of Melody is the only makeup style we have that can contribute even a little to this outfit style requirement. It is at only 1 star and it will give us 123 solely to Elegant, but better that than nothing. It is from the Wisteria Capriccio item set, from the Swan Lake story, and it drops from encounters.
Use any cat available that can give you even the slightest advantage here. We will only get 225 to Elegant from Musa, but that will be enough.
And, last but not least, we will use the Owl Mask relic from the Swan Lake story also. It is a relic we haven’t upgraded yet but it will do for our current outfit. It fits both style requirements and it will increase the base score for Elegant and Noble items by 5% provided we use at least 3 items from the same set in our outfit, which we do. Now, let’s see how we did…
We made it to Perfect with 5510 in total! All the rewards from the stage will be ours. Now, let’s see what Gina will do next. She is to take Kahir’s letter to the alchemist.
Gina goes through the commoners’ market and arrives to a nondescript house. She knocks at an old wooden door and, a few moments later, they are opened cautiously. From behind them a thin middle-aged man leans forward and says “We’re closed for the afternoon.”
He tells Gina that if she wants him to authenticate gold and silver objects, she must come back tomorrow in the morning. Also, if she wants him to mint Fake Coins, he suggests she never comes back again. Then, before Gina can respond, he tries closing the door…
Gina finally manages to say a few words and tell the alchemist why she is here. She tells him she has a letter for him from the Prince. “A letter from His Highness the Prince?” Awad asks and hesitates before taking the roll of parchment she offers him.
Awad steps into the shadow behind the door and unrolls the scroll. After reading it for a while, the door opens slightly and Awad speaks to Gina in a cold voice, saying “come in.” He tells her he will immediately pen a reply to His Highness and ask for his forgiveness, and he hopes Gina will deliver it to him.
Gina asks if he is to go back and resume his duties at the palace, not hiding her hopes in her words, but Awad tells her the Royal Alchemy Workshop is to be abolished and the Astrology Chamber will soon take its place. This has already been decided he says.
Gina tells Awad that the Prince will do everything in his power to preserve the Royal Alchemy Workshop and that Awad is the best alchemist in the Full Moon Kingdom. Both the King and the Prince have the utmost regard for him, Gina says and tells him he can’t just give up.
However, Awad firstly denies being that good as Gina claimed and he also says that if he didn’t win the King’s favor when he was younger, he would still be a Palace forge apprentice to this day. As he speaks, Awad stares out the window and sighs deeply, before continuing to tell Gina how alchemy is an ancient discipline, plain and also boring.
Alchemists must follow obscure theories and carry out endless experiments to find the best balance of various material properties. They also invest a lot of time and energy in their work, but fail more often than they succeed, Awad says. The Royal Alchemy Workshop was criticized constantly, he says…
Gina remembers how Light dislikes science and realizes it is no wonder since they only theorize and experiment most of the time. However, these words are more familiar to her than the abstract concept of magic.
Finally, she tells him she doesn’t really understand alchemy, but she knows what it’s like to carry out repeated experiments and learn lessons from failure. TO verify an outcome, one must use trial and error, she says, and it is indeed a long and arduous process, but by no means futile!
Awad is pleasantly surprised by Gina’s attitude and tells her not many people to recognize this fact of life. Most just dream of turning lead into gold. It seems to Gina that Awad is livening up, but she can’t be sure. Awad continues to tell her about alchemy…
Awad tells her how easy it can be to spend even your whole life on a single experient and never get it to perfection. People are too eager to succeed and they believe that alchemists’ work is in vain. The Prime Minister, he continues, believes alchemists are nothing but hacks and crooks.
As Awan speaks about the Prime Minister, Gina remembers how he was insufferably arrogant and she almost shouts in frustration. She tells Awad that the Prime Minister is an unfair, terrible man. Finally, wants to give Awad advice, and we arrive at a second branching path in this stage 1-9. Gina can advise Awad to strive to regain his position or to produce results to prove himself, and we will do both below.
Strive to regain your position
In this option, Gina immediately encourages Awad to strive to regain his position. He tells her that the “Palace Alchemist is just a title and that he thought he could rely on the royal family’s support to revitalize the alchemy field. But, alas, he learned that everything in the Palace is a struggle for power.
Awad says he can’t fully dedicate himself to the research and that his life is more difficult outside of the Palace, true, but at least he is no longer bound to anyone. Gina asks him if he is really willing to let the Prime Minister win and keep him out of the Palace…
Awad hints at his low opinion of the Prime Minister and all similar to him. He tells Gina he has failed to live up to His Majesty the King’s expectations and wasted the Prince’s efforts as well, as he sighs and Gina can see there is a heaviness in the air. However, she remembers Kahir entrusted this task to her and she must not disappoint him.
Gina thinks how she needs to keep trying to persuade Awad and not give up. And, we are back at the previous choice, as the right choice was the second option, to advise Awad to produce results and prove himself to the King and the Prince.
Back to Previous Choice
Produce results to prove yourself
The first choice led to the second one all the same, so Gina has to advise Awad to try and produce results that would then repay the King and the Prince for their trust they put in him. Gina also tells Awad that maybe he can refine a rare precious metal to prove the Prime Minister wrong.
Awad tells her that wouldn’t bother to prove anything to anyone who despises alchemy. Besides, he continues, he has decided to leave the Palace. Whether the Prime Minister approves or not, Awad says he won’t be coerced anymore.
Gina is persistent in her attempts to persuade Awad to try and prove the Prime Minister wrong and justify the trust of both the King and the Prince. She appeals to his emotions now as she asks him if he really has the heart to disappoint such a graceful King. Were the Prince’s efforts all in vain, she also adds.
After she tells him this, Awad stands silent, clasping the parchment in his hand, the message from the Prince. Gina continues and tells him this isn’t a meaningless fight and that it is all in the name of alchemy.
Even if he can’t preserve the Royal Alchemy Workshop, he can prove to the entire Palace that his work is significant. He might also frustrate and discourage many folk alchemists if he disappears quietly, Gina adds. They might start thinking that the development of alchemy will never reach its peak without the Palace’s support.
It would appear Gina has finally hit the right spot. Awad now looks at her with determination and finally says “You’re right!” He says he shouldn’t leave like this. In his letter, he says, His Highness said the Palace will host a banquet in honor of the Provincial Governors and he hopes Awad can attend.
Awad says that he recently made a breakthrough on a refining technique he’s been working on for many years. So, maybe he’ll get some results before the banquet. Gina tells him that if he shows off his results at the banquet, he can prove the value of alchemy!
Gina encourages him to do it and Awad agrees. He says Gina is right, but he also tells her he needs a smart and practical assistant, so he asks her if she will help him. “Of course!” Gina replies and with that, the Magic Lamp stage 1-9 ends. We shall now go through the rest of the choices we didn’t choose the first time around.
Back to Previous ChoiceThe Prime Minister will hurt the Prince
This additional choice will take an extra 5 stamina. When chosen, Gina tells Light that she is worried the Prime Minister might harm Kahir in some way, now that he knows he is in league with her. Gina says that the Prime Minister may sound like a nice man, but those ambitious eyes don’t fool her.
He too is searching for the Magic Lamp with the help of the Magician and he must have some devious scheme up his sleeve, Gina says. Light reflects on how Gina keeps mentioning Kahir and it seems she cares a lot about him. Finally, he asks her if she likes him? Gina asks Light if he is jealous…
Light denies being jealous but tells Gina she should be focusing on finding the gemstone and not waste her time daydreaming. She tells him she is not daydreaming and is a little upset while doing so. Gina says that Kahir is her friend and she doesn’t want anything to happen to him.
And, she continues, if the Magician tells the Prime Minister she has the Magic Lamp, they’ll all be in trouble. Light tells her that the Magician didn’t expose her so he probably doesn’t know the Magic Lamp’s power is diminished and he is cautious about Gina’s potential power.
Light points out that there might be a scheme of its own making between the Magician and the Prime Minister, which is in her favor, but she still thinks they can’t treat this lightly. The Magician knows she is hired by Sinbad and the Prime Minister is a powerful person. Even Sinbad would be powerless against them. Gina says they should hide the Magic Lamp well.
Light says it is more important to find the gemstone and then they can relax when he gets his magic back. Gina says there weren’t any real clues at the Royal Library, but maybe the Palace Alchemist has more info for them.
