Complete Walkthrough
Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Shadows of London Stage 1-1 of Dress up Time Princess. During this story, you will take the role of Caroline Rayes, a member of a declining house, arriving in London to partake in the social season. Shortly after arriving, you will learn that the mysterious disease is spreading across the city, and various rumors are circulating about it. The stage window will display all the relevant information, so hit Start once you are ready to begin.
When you start, you will find yourself having a strange dream. In it, a young girl will ask her father to tell her a story about the black butterfly. The man will kindly say that it’s time for her to go to bed, and the story will have to wait until the next day.
The girl will tell him she’s not sleepy, but her mom will gently say that the butterfly is sleeping since it needs to rest before continuing its adventure. The girl will ask if the butterfly also needs to go to bed on time. The woman will nod and say that just like her, the butterfly too listened to a lullaby when it was small.
She will then sing a lullaby to the girl and gently put her to sleep. The whole scene will bring back some pleasant memories, and you will feel as if you’ve lived those moments already.
Shortly after, you will feel a large and warm hand tapping your shoulder lightly. You will open your eyes and notice an unfamiliar-looking man standing in front of you. Your eyes will be full of tears, and the man will notice it and kindly hand you his handkerchief.
You will thank him for his kindness. After a short while, you will realize that you are on a train bound for London. You’ll take a look through the window and spot plenty of tall buildings in the distance, emitting clouds of black smoke. You will say that seeing a sea of smoke is a good indicator you’re getting close to London.
The man will notice that you don’t seem like someone who likes London very much. You will say that you were just talking to yourself, and you will apologize if you offended him. He’ll smile at you and tell you not to worry about it. He will also say that you look much better.
You will thank him and say that you had a dream, which is why it took you a while to wake up properly. He’ll nod and say that travel-exhaustion can have an influence on one’s dreams. He will then introduce himself as Edward Grey, and say that he’s a doctor.
You’ll tell him that your name is Caroline Rayes, and say that you’re traveling to London from Hampshire. Edward will tell you that he’s been to Hampshire before and say that the people there are very kind. He’ll then ask if you’re visiting London for the first time.
You’ll tell him that you used to live in London with your parents when you were little. Unfortunately, something happened, which is why you moved to your grandfather’s manor. You’ll also say that you are going to London for the social season.
Edward will be surprised to see you traveling alone and he’ll ask you about it. You’ll tell him that London is relatively close to Hampshire, which is why you decided to travel alone. He will advise you to be careful since the times are changing, and the dangers are ever-present.
You’ll nod and say that your aunt is living in London, and as soon as you exit the train, someone will meet you at the station to pick you up. Edward will be glad to hear that.
The memories of your childhood will start flooding your mind. You will remember that your parents passed away when you were five, so you were sent to Canterville manor in Hampshire to live with your grandfather. Unfortunately, because of the setback at the factories, the manor earnings weren’t too good, but despite that, you had a good childhood at your grandfather’s place.
Two years ago, your grandfather passed away from illness, and your uncle took over the family business. Sadly, this didn’t turn out well for the Canterville manor, which was one of the reasons why you left Hampshire. Thankfully, your aunt invited you and offered to pay all your expenses, so you decided to accept her invitation and move to London.
Edward will notice that you’re deep in thought, so he will try to break the silence by telling you some interesting things about London. You can choose to respond enthusiastically or appear disinterested.
Respond enthusiasticallyIf you choose to respond enthusiastically, you’ll say that you’re looking forward to your stay in London. Since you left at an early age, there is little you remember about the town, which is why you’re excited to return, and perhaps even meet and get to know some interesting people.
Edward will tell you that London is full of risky places, and he will advise you to be careful, especially with the people you encounter. You’ll thank him for advising you and say that you’ll keep your guard up.
You’ll smile at him and say that he already warned you to be careful twice during your conversation. Edward will admit it’s a professional habit, and he’ll apologize for nagging you.
Back to Previous ChoiceIf you appear disinterested, you will say that you don’t really enjoy being in a crowd. One of the reasons for that is that you lived most of your life in the countryside. Selecting this option will gain you some Goodwill with Edward.
He’ll smile at you and say that he also enjoys the quiet life. He will suggest that you visit your childhood home. Perhaps that way you might recall some nice memories.
You’ll agree with him and say that you’re definitely planning to revisit your old home. After all, it’s one of the reasons why you decided to come back to London. Edward will be glad to hear that and he’ll wish you an enjoyable social season.
Back to Previous ChoiceShortly after, the train will enter the city and most of the passengers will start getting ready to exit. Edward will say he had a lovely time chatting with you, but unfortunately, your journey is about to end. You will thank him for keeping you company during the travel.
Edward will point out that spring in London can be very cold, and he’ll notice that you are wearing very thin clothes. Being a gentleman, he will offer to lend you his coat. You’ll blush at him and say that you have some warm clothes inside your luggage.
Once the train reaches the station, Doctor Grey will politely help you down the steps, and shortly after, you will bid each other goodbye. You will take out the letter your aunt sent you and read the pickup location.
You’ll make sure to go to the location mentioned in the letter. While waiting for a servant to arrive, you will notice a paperboy waving a newspaper and yelling about the most recent news. You will learn that the strange sickness is spreading around the city.
Shortly after, a servant girl will approach you and ask if your name is Caroline Rayes. After you nod, she’ll introduce herself as Anna, and say that Madam Petit sent her to meet you. Moments later, she’ll call for two coachmen, and your luggage will be loaded onto the carriage. You’ll quickly get on as well.

Shortly after, you will get to dress up before meeting with your aunt. For this occasion, you should select clothes and accessories with Formal and Noble tags. The clothes you received earlier have the appropriate tags and will help increase your score.
Once you are done dressing up, the servant will tell you that your aunt is waiting for you in the living room. Upon getting there, you will be greeted warmly by Madam Petit. She will be very glad to see you after so many years.
She’ll notice that you are all nervous and will kindly ask you to sit down. While approaching the chair she pointed out, you will accidentally step on the hem of your skirt, and fall towards the chair. Luckily, you will manage to recover your balance just in time.
Madam Petit will ask you to be careful and say that women have to wear such clothes while attending social events, which is why you’ll need to learn how to move in them. She will gently take your hand and pat it to ease your tension. She’ll tell you not to worry and say that she’ll help you get used to everything.
She will talk about her late brother for a while and also mention the Canterville Manor. She’ll then ask if you are familiar with social etiquette. You’ll inform her that your grandfather used to host some gatherings at the manor year ago, so you learned some basics. Unfortunately, there weren’t many gatherings lately.
Your aunt will sigh and say that you’ll need to learn the appropriate etiquette if you wish to do well in high society. Thankfully, she will kindly offer to teach you etiquette, so you won’t have to wait too long before making an official appearance in society.
Madam Petit will take a good look at you and smile faintly. She will praise you for your beauty and say that you shouldn’t have much trouble finding an ideal marriage partner during the social season.
Needless to say, this will come as a shock, and you will say that you aren’t ready for marriage yet. Your aunt will calmly say that finding a suitable marriage partner should be the primary goal of any lady of marriage-appropriate age during the social season.
She will also say that you haven’t got much time left, which is why you should aim to find a marriage partner during the social season. However, she won’t force you to do that and will say that you should at least learn how to interact with high class gentlemen.
You will nod and say that you’ll try your best not to disappoint her. She will assume that you’re tired after a long journey and will suggest that you head to your room and get some much-needed rest.
She’ll also task one of the servants to tell you all about the household schedule. Having no other options, you will decide to compose yourself and get ready to learn from your aunt.
This will conclude Shadows of London Stage 1-1 of Dress up Time Princess. You will receive rewards for completing the stage.
