Shadows of London Stage 1-2
Complete Walkthrough
Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Shadows of London Stage 1-2 of Dress up Time Princess. During the previous stage, you woke up on a train bound for London as Caroline Rayes, a young woman traveling to London to take part in the social season. On the train, you met a young doctor called Edward Grey. He turned out to be a true gentleman, and you spent the rest of your travel talking to him. Shortly after arriving in London, a servant sent by your aunt picked you up and took you to her place. There, you reunited with your aunt, Madam Petit, and she told you that you should try your best to find a suitable marriage partner during the social season. Needless to say, you were slightly shocked to hear that, but thankfully, your aunt decided not to pressure you about it. She offered to help you get accustomed to life in the high class society, and soon enough, you will start attending etiquette lessons. The stage window will display all the important information, so hit Start once you’re ready to begin.
A few days after arriving in London, you will head into the dining hall where you’ll spot your aunt eagerly awaiting your arrival. She will smile at you once she notices you approaching and say that you are late.
You’ll find yourself confused and recall her saying that arriving on time isn’t something that’s encouraged. Madam Petit will say that you remembered it wrong and advise you to flip through “A Lady’s Code of Conduct” to refresh your memory. You’ll take a look at it and read some of the rules.
After reading it, you will realize that giving the host time to prepare by arriving late is part of banquet etiquette. On the other hand, arriving early for normal family meals is more than encouraged. You’ll apologize to your aunt for mixing the rules up.
Thankfully, Madam Petit will be full of understanding since you only arrived a few days ago, and there was no way for you to remember all of the rules so fast. You will tell her that you’ll do your best to memorize all of them.
She will then tell you that she’ll be hosting a tea party next week for some publishers and friends. That will be the first time you’ll be making your official appearance in society.
This will come as a surprise to you since you didn’t expect to make an official appearance so soon. Madam Petit will remind you that this may be an excellent opportunity for you since she plans to introduce you to a gentleman called Jesse Lindvall.
You’ll ask her to tell you more about him. Your aunt will go on and say that the Lindvall family owns the Lindvall Bank, a famous private bank in London. They also have many other businesses under their name. As for Jesse, he is the youngest and most favored son of the Lindvall family.
Unfortunately, Jesse likely won’t inherit most of the family businesses, but given that he’s so beloved by his father, he will definitely receive financial support from him. Because of that, he is the best choice for a husband for any lady from families in decline. Once again, you will tell your aunt you aren’t in a rush to marry.
Still, you will be willing to get acquainted with Jesse and try to open up some business opportunities for your uncle, which might help restore the manor from its current state. Your aunt will say that business isn’t so simple. Ever since the abolishment of the Corn Laws, the manor went into decline. Sadly, your uncle wasn’t willing to see the truth.
While your uncle may have a conservative mindset, you will offer to have a word with him and convince him to change his views. Madam Petit will say that she knows him well, and his stubbornness will more than likely prevent him from seeing reason. She’ll also admit that she misses your father dearly.
Both of you will stand there completely silent for a moment, and after a while, Madam Petit will advise you to think about yourself. She’ll explain that according to the rules of inheritance, Canterville manor will most likely be inherited by a distant relative in a hundred years. In other words, your efforts will only be benefiting others.
You will say that you don’t mind that, as long as the manor can be restored to its former state. Your aunt will admire your willingness to help and say that you’ll need a foundation to start a business. Getting a suitable marriage partner could provide you that foundation.
You’ll know that she is telling the truth. After all, she’s speaking from her own experience. She married an old French noble when she was just over twenty, and after her husband passed away, she returned to London with a noble status and incredible wealth. Still, you will find it hard to follow her example and not listen to your heart.
Madam Petit will notice your expression and figure out you don’t agree with her. However, she won’t force you to do anything and she’ll drop the subject for the time being. She will advise you to present yourself properly at next week’s tea party. You will nod and assure her you’ll do your best.
Every afternoon, you’ll attend your aunt’s etiquette lessons. Anna will arrive to inform you that the lesson is about to start. You will quickly decide to get ready. This time, you should pick clothes and accessories with Formal and Gentle tags.
After getting dressed, you will follow the servant to the reception hall. Upon arriving, you’ll realize that you aren’t the only one taking the lessons. The hall will be filled with a group of young girls, all neatly dressed up. Madam Petit will ask you to find a place to sit.
She’ll elegantly walk past the group and politely greet everyone. Suddenly, the door will open and a girl dressed in odd clothing will enter the hall. She’ll apologize for being late, but somehow, you will feel that she wasn’t sincere about it.
The other ladies in the room will start whispering to one another, and you will learn that the girl’s name is Priscilla Barnet. Your aunt will also notice it, and after glancing at them, they’ll instantly stop talking.
She’ll turn towards Priscilla and ask her about the reason for being late. She will simply say her carriage broke down, which is why she got delayed. You will learn that this isn’t the first time she was late. Apparently, each time, she had a different excuse.
Still, Madam Petit will decide not to push the matter any further and will kindly ask Priscilla to find a place to sit. She will look around and take a seat on the empty spot beside you. Your aunt will continue the lecture, and all the girls except for Priscilla will pay close attention to what she’s saying. You’ll quickly realize she’s no ordinary girl.

Why aren't you listening seriously? If you ask why she’s not listening seriously, Priscilla will simply say there’s no reason for her to do that. You’ll tell her that all ladies of the appropriate age are expected to attend the social season with mannerism. However, she’ll make it pretty clear she disagrees with you on that.
You’ll try arguing with her, but she’ll just tell you not to waste your breath. Suddenly, you will realize that your aunt is standing nearby, and she won’t be happy to see you talking during her lesson. You’ll quickly apologize to her.
She’ll say that she won’t go easy on you during etiquette lessons just because you’re her niece. You’ll nod and say you understand. Shortly after, she’ll return to the center of the room and continue where she left off. Priscilla will comment on you being Madam Petit’s niece, after which she’ll turn away and stop talking to you.

You’ll admit that it’s pretty difficult for you. She’ll quickly figure out that you aren’t used to those kinds of situations. You’ll tell her that you never had an etiquette lesson with so many people. Priscilla will say that there’s nothing to be nervous about since the lessons are very simple.
She’ll find it ridiculous that some people are treating that stuff as actual rules. Suddenly, you will realize that your aunt is standing beside you. She will notice that the two of you are getting along very well. Priscilla will smile and say that she’s always been friendly to everyone.
Still, Madam Petit will remind you that it’s not polite to whisper during lessons. You’ll quickly apologize to her and promise not to do it again. Priscilla will assume it must be difficult for you to live with Madam Petit, especially if she nags you every day about your actions and manners. You’ll explain that it’s not as bad as she thinks since your aunt allows you to stick to your principles. Priscilla will be quite surprised to hear that.
Back to Previous ChoiceAfter a while, you will have a tea break in between lessons. Most other girls will gather in groups and chatter idly. Priscilla and you will be the only ones sitting alone. You will suddenly feel the urge to speak with her, so you’ll start the conversation by praising her skills.
She will say that she was practicing those skills since her youth, which is why she’s so proficient with them. She’ll also say that you’re a puzzle to her, because you are Madam Petit’s niece, but you know next to nothing about her lessons.
You’ll tell her that you spent most of your life in Hampshire, which is why you don’t know much about the lifestyle of London ladies. Priscilla will advise you to return to Hampshire as soon as possible since otherwise, you will inevitably get swallowed up by the city.
You’ll tell her that other than the dirty roads and gloomy atmosphere, you don’t really find the city that bad. Priscilla will say that you clearly didn’t see the Eastern District. You will try to remember everything you know about it.
You’ll recall the paperboy you saw near the train station and ask if she’s referring to the strange sickness spreading around. She’ll avoid giving you a direct answer, which will leave you puzzled.
Madam Petit will approach and say that it’s not appropriate for young ladies to talk about baseless rumors. You’ll ask her if the Eastern District is really plagued by a disease. She’ll try to provide a simple and logical explanation.
She will tell you not to worry and say that as long as you don’t wander into those places, you should be safe. Priscilla will tell her she has no plan of leaving her house. Your aunt will smile at her and say she hopes that will be the case.
Shortly after, the servant will ring a bell, and all of the young ladies will make their way back to the reception hall. Priscilla will quickly make some distance between the two of you, leaving you completely puzzled.
